One of the acts im most looking forward to checking out at stonefest is Soma Rasa, if only for the reason that they collaborated with Digital Underground this year to bring us close to Australia's first real crunk song, "Say What You Want". It also has quite a clever video... so turn up the bass and check this out.

If you havent heard of Decoder Ring yet, then you will be in for a shock. One of the few bands that can make a festival stage sound like you are in a club with the Ring playing and thats it... Their brilliant combination of post rock, no wave and progressive electronica and jazz meld brilliantly to give music that you feel within your veins, not just your ears. One for both the resume and the side of stage action, they are reason number 5 that stonefest this year is a smashing event.

I dont need to tell anyone any more really about Faker, except that they really really really are a cross between The Cure and Hunters & Collectors, and that is a startlingly good combination.

And of course, i get to open for the lovely and talented Bec Paton, who they are importing back down from Sydney, and sure ive played on the same bill as her a million times, it doesnt change the fact she is the best damn dj in the world...
