Jan. 4, 2006 - BackDoor Trojan Virus ruin your life lately - thank god for google groups!!

I recently got some bastard trojan virus through my firewall which would not go away and hacked all my bandwidth so I could not use the internet any more - so cost me money and time.

Anyways I looked everywhere for a solution for this remon.sys file and found this great walkthrough - which btw seems to work (half way through) - but you will need to borrow a friends pc to download the anti-virus software to use if you don't have (as like me you will have no bandwidth left to surf with by now).

Anyways if your bandwidth suddenly drops - check your network to see if packets are going out the door whilst your not surfing and you will know with fair certainty you have one of these - rated as very bad from what I read.

Anyways from all my searches this approach seemed to be the best to remove the Remon.sys, Orans.sys, Hacktool.Rootkit, Sysmanager backdoor trojan (pending worst case scenario of a full re-install)

btw all the antivirus software mentioned here can be downloaded for free for home user or as trial - enough to see you free.

BTW if don't have by now - get the home version of AVG too - it seems to be rated all over the shop for freeware  http://www.grisoft.com/doc/289/lng/us/tpl/tpl01
