On Saturday I was fortunate enough to attend the Musica Summer Series Boat Party featuring Chris Lake, Sebastien Leger and one of my fave local DJs (and the man behind Musica), Kane Bligh. He is also donating 10% of profits from the day to Benefit (see last blog).

 

Anyway, while on the boat, called the Lady Rose, something really fucking funny happened to me and it goes a little something like this....

 

Later in the night at about 8ish, I was sitting at the front of the boat with a bunch of people gurning up a storm when suddenly this massive box of toilet paper hit me in the face. NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING. As it turns out, the boat-punters had churned through the bog roll and the Lady Rose needed to load some more on. This is done by dudes on a dock throwing boxes up to the outstretched arms of the boat staff. Unfortunately, the tosser underestimated his own strength but its OK because my face caught it

The butter-fingered-staff were lovely and offered me a free alcoholic beverage. For some odd reason I ordered one of those things that are basically piss in a bottle + red food dye (Lissie momentarily forgot why she doesnt drink girly drinks.......because they taste like turd).

So after having a sip of that nasty crimson shit and deciding I was going to barf if another mL went past my lips, I offered it to my friends who said no. So I turned to a group of young lads near by and offered it to them. They looked up with great big smiles and said


"Yes please! Thanks so much! Do you want some ice?"


In a slightly warped way, there was a very nice sense of community of that boat. Can't wait for the next one.
